One of my favorite series is the Sigma Force novels by James Rollins. I’ve enjoyed many books over the years that I’d call intellectual thrillers that blur the lines between covert operations and science — something more cognitive than Tom Clancy.

This is the 17th book in the Sigma Force series and didn’t disappoint. The Sigma team bounces around Australia, Java, China, and Southeast Asia trying to find out why earthquakes are causing tsunamis and volcanoes are erupting throughout the region.

Whenever I finish one of his novels, I check his website to see when the next novel is set to be released. I especially was curious this time as there was a huge cliffhanger with one recurring character: a cunning and conniving Russian assassin. Luckily for me, the next novel is set to release on August 6, 2024. I’ll be picking that up as soon as possible!

Overall, I’d give this novel 4 out of 5 stars.
